Joan Miró spent a significant part of his life in Majorca, an island in the Balearic Islands of Spain. In 1956, he settled in Palma de Majorca, where he established a studio. The island's landscape and Mediterranean light greatly influenced his work, and he continued to produce a prolific amount of art during his time there. Majorca became a place of solace and inspiration for Miró, and it played an important role in his later works
