It is believed that the convent was founded at the end of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century, and has been a place of retreat and prayer for the Poor Clare sisters for several centuries. The current convent building is in the Gothic-Renaissance style and has undergone renovations and additions over the years.

The Cloister is one of the most prominent elements of the convent, with its characteristic structure and design. It also houses a Gothic-style church with an impressive interior, decorated with religious paintings and sculptures.
